What Is Work Internship/Exploration?
This training
service is offered at WEDCO Employment Center for any of your clients who are
not currently enrolled with RSA/VR and who may be thinking of pursuing or
preparing for employment.
This WIE training is
similar to what was known by many as “World of Work” training offered by some
local agencies in the past. This
service is to assist individuals in understanding the value and meaning of
work, making informed vocational decisions, and making a decision to pursue or
prepare for employment. This service
may include an unpaid work experience, but does not involve paid work.
Clients (students)
enrolled in our training classes will receive instruction and guidance in the
following areas:
·
Effective stress management/ conflict resolution in the workplace
·
Orientation to the
world of work, including the advantages and disadvantages of work
·
Meaning,
value, and demands of work
·
Work
ethics
Other issues or barriers to consider: when, and if,
planning to pursue employment.
Classes are two weeks
long, M-Th, from 9 am-1 pm, with Fridays being open for
special needs/services. All classes are
held at our Training Centers.
